Beginner Swimming Instruction for Wk of August 1 - Basic Beginner & Beginner

All levels will incorporate level-appropriate water safety. As skills are mastered, students may
advance to a new level. Each level will continue to practice focus skills from each preceding level.
Please be mindful of the prerequisite for each session when registering your swimmer for his/her first session. Swimmers will be assessed during the first week, as well as during each session, to ensure appropriate placement, and may be moved to a different level/session based on this assessment. Swimmers not attending during week 1 will be assessed during their first session.
Swimmers will meet Christen on the beach at the beginning of each session.
Classes will begin Tuesday, June 28th, and will be offered daily, Monday-Thursday at the times listed for each.

Basic Beginner will have two age groups, 2-1/2 - 3 years (12:10-12:50 pm) and 4+ years (1:10-1:50 pm).
Basic Beginner will include:
Acclimation - Submersions (full body in the water)
Kicking - Front Kick and Back Kick
Floating - Back Float and Front Float (work toward face in water)

Beginner swimmers must demonstrate successful Basic Beginner skills (2:00-2:45 pm).
Beginner will include:
Breath Control
Rolling - Back to Front and Front to Back
Kicking - Flutter Kick and work toward swim kick

Meet and Greet (rain or shine) Monday, June 27th, 11:30-12:30 - Come enjoy a frozen treat and
meet your new swim instructor!
